- Problem
- KZRV, L.P. (KZRV) is recalling certain 2018 Sportsmen Classic, Spree, Connect, Durango, SportTrek, Spree Escape, Venom, and Sportsmen Sportster recreational trailers. The Federal Certification label on these vehicles does not contain the manufacturing date. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."
- Risk
- In the event of a vehicle safety recall, the missing production date may prevent owners from determining if the recall affects them, increasing their risk of injury or a crash.
- Remedy
- KZRV will notify owners and provide a corrected Federal Certification label, free of charge. The recall began on June 27, 2017. Owners may contact KZRV customer service at 1-800-768-4016 extension 154 or 153. KZRV's number for this recall is KZ-2017-03.
- Notes
- Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
What this recall means for you
Certain 2018 KZRV recreational trailers have a Federal Certification label that does not show the manufacturing date. Without that date, owners may not be able to tell whether a safety recall applies to their trailer, which could leave a known safety defect unrepaired and raise the risk of injury or a crash.
KZRV will notify affected owners and provide a corrected Federal Certification label at no cost. The recall began on June 27, 2017, under KZRV recall number KZ-2017-03.
If you own one of these trailers, contact KZRV customer service at 1-800-768-4016, extension 154 or 153, to request the corrected label. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
