BMW M760LI Recall 17V377: Oil Leak Can Lengthen Braking Distance and Raise Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 17V377, reported June 14, 2017, 206 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some of these vehicles may have an incorrectly installed engine oil cooler line. This can cause oil to leak in the engine compartment.

If the leaking oil reaches the front brake discs, it can reduce braking effectiveness, so the vehicle may need a greater distance to stop. This increases the risk of a crash.

The repair is free. BMW will notify owners, and an authorized dealer will replace the engine oil cooler line at no cost. You can contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417, and you should check your VIN for open recalls.
