Kzrv Venom Recall 17V347: Rubber gas line can melt near outdoor cooktop, risking fire

NHTSA campaign 17V347, reported May 30, 2017, 41 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2016-2018 Venom fifth-wheel travel trailers (models 4040DQ and 4011QK) equipped with the outside kitchen option lack a 12-inch copper pipe between the rubber gas supply hose and the cooktop pilot light. Without that copper section, the rubber gas line may sit too close to the pilot light, where it can overheat and melt.

A melted gas supply line can increase the risk of a fire. If you own one of the affected trailers with an outside kitchen, you should stop using the outdoor cooktop and contact KZRV customer service at 1-800-768-4016, extension 153 or 154, for guidance.

KZRV will notify owners, and authorized dealers will install a 12-inch copper extension between the pilot light and the rubber gas line at no charge. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your trailer is covered.
