Setra S407 CC Recall 17V329: Exterior Panels May Detach From Motor Coach Frame

NHTSA campaign 17V329, reported May 19, 2017, 5 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2017 Setra S407CC motor coaches may have exterior body covers bonded to powder-coated frames. The powder coating can peel off the frame, which could allow the covers to detach from the vehicle while it is being driven.

Any panel that comes loose can become a road hazard for other drivers and increase the risk of a crash. According to the manufacturer, the affected vehicles have not been sold to customers and are still in the importer's inventory. The US importer will make the repair before the coaches are put into service, so no owner notification letter will be issued.

If you have questions, you can contact Setra customer service at 1-800-241-2947 and reference recall number 98.10M10519A. Owners can also check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
