Grand Design Imagine Recall 17V271: Slide room can open while towed, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 17V271, reported April 25, 2017, 1,662 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain travel trailers have slide room mechanism column screws that may shear. If this happens, the slide room can extend while the trailer is being towed.

An open slide room during transit increases the risk of a crash. Avoid towing the trailer if you notice the slide room is not fully retracted and secured, and have it checked before the next trip.

Grand Design will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the slide mechanism column securing screws at no cost to you. You can contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679, and you should also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
