Duruxx DRX2 Recall 17V242: Low-speed vehicle can exceed legal speed, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 17V242, reported April 10, 2017, 17 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2015 and 2016 Duruxx DRX2 low-speed vehicles can go faster than the 40 km/h limit that defines the Low Speed Vehicle classification. Because of this, the vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 500 for low-speed vehicles.

When a low-speed vehicle can exceed its intended speed, the risk of a crash increases. Owners should take the recall seriously and have their vehicle checked promptly.

Duruxx will notify affected owners, and an authorized dealer will adjust the throttle body to limit the maximum speed. The repair is free of charge. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is included.
