What this recall means for you
Certain 2011-2017 Gulf Stream Amerilite trailers may have an incorrect Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) on their Federal Placard, the certification label that states the maximum allowable loaded weight. The label does not meet federal certification requirements.
If the listed GVWR is wrong, owners may load the trailer beyond its safe limit. An overloaded trailer can put extra stress on the tires and affect how the vehicle handles, which increases the risk of a crash.
Gulf Stream will notify owners and provide a corrected Federal Placard at no cost. Owners can contact Gulf Stream customer service at 1-800-289-8787, referencing recall number GS040417. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
