Great Dane Everest SS Recall 17V211: Loose brake port plug can cut stopping power

NHTSA campaign 17V211, reported March 27, 2017, 34 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A plug on the front brake chamber service port may not have been properly tightened. If it is loose, air pressure in the service brakes can drop, reducing braking force.

Lower brake pressure can lengthen the distance needed to stop the trailer, which raises the risk of a crash.

The remedy is free: Great Dane will tighten the diagnostic tee pipe plug or remove the tee. Owners can contact Great Dane customer service at 1-912-232-4471, and can check their VIN for open recalls.
