Ford Fusion Recall 17V210: Door Latch May Fail, Risking an Open Door in Motion

NHTSA campaign 17V210, reported March 27, 2017, 191,432 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A component inside the door latches can break, making doors hard to latch or giving the driver or a passenger the false impression that a door is closed when it is not.

A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is moving, which increases the risk of injury to occupants. If you notice a door that is hard to close, feels unsecured, or seems to latch incorrectly, have it checked promptly.

Dealers will replace all four door latches free of charge. Owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (recall 15S16), and you can check your VIN for open recalls.
