Fiat 500X Recall 17V146: Low tire pressure warning light may not come on

NHTSA campaign 17V146, reported March 7, 2017, 297 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2017 vehicles, the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light may fail to illuminate when a tire is underinflated. The vehicles therefore do not meet federal tire pressure monitoring requirements.

Driving with an underinflated tire can lead to tire failure and increases the risk of a crash, because the warning you rely on to notice low pressure may not appear.

The repair is free. Dealers will update the instrument panel software, and the manufacturer will notify owners. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls, and contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 with any questions.
