New Flyer C35LF Recall 17V130: Front Axle Beam Cracks Can Cause Loss of Control

NHTSA campaign 17V130, reported March 1, 2017, 2,357 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain transit buses have MAN V8-65L front axle beams that may develop cracks on their upper and/or lower surfaces. Over time, these cracks can cause the front axle beam to fail.

If the front axle beam fails, the vehicle can lose control, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should be aware of this safety risk and act promptly on the notice they receive from the manufacturer.

The manufacturer, New Flyer, will notify owners, and authorized dealers will inspect the axle beams and perform any necessary repair at no cost to you. For questions, contact New Flyer customer service at 1-204-224-6706, referencing recall number R17-002. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
