AEV Traumahawk Recall 17V120: Rear brakes may lose power due to overtightened bolts

NHTSA campaign 17V120, reported February 27, 2017, 16 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2017 ambulances built on Ford F-350, F-450, or F-550 chassis with LiquidSpring C.L.A.S.S. suspension systems may have rear brake caliper banjo bolts that were tightened beyond the correct torque specification. The problem traces to an incorrect torque specification used during assembly.

Overtightened banjo bolts can cause partial or complete loss of rear brake power, which raises the risk of a crash, especially in an emergency vehicle that is often driven under demanding conditions.

Owners will be notified by Halcore Group, Inc. LiquidSpring dealers will replace the rear brake banjo bolts free of charge. Contact LiquidSpring customer service at 1-765-474-7816 extension 1 or [email protected], or AEV customer service at 1-800-374-9749. You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
