ATC Quest Recall 17V110: Trailer Lift Platform Can Drop Unexpectedly

NHTSA campaign 17V110, reported February 17, 2017, 16 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2017 bumper-pull trailers with the Stacker package and either three 6,000 lb axles or two 7,000 lb axles may have trailer walls that flex, allowing the lift platform to disengage from its safety lock. If this happens while the lifting chains are slack, the platform can unexpectedly drop.

An unexpected drop of the lift platform can increase the risk of injury. Owners should stop using the lift until the recall repair is completed.

The repair is free. Aluminum Trailer Company will notify owners, and authorized dealers will install a flange to keep the lift from slipping out of the safety lock. You can contact ATC customer service at 1-574-773-2440 and reference recall number STKR-LIFT. You can also check your vehicle identification number for open recalls.
