Starcraft RV TT Autumn Ridge Recall 16V882: Incorrect Tire and Rim Labels Could Lead to Unsafe Replacements

What this recall means for you

Certain 2017 Starcraft travel trailers (Autumn Ridge, Comet Mini, Launch, and Satellite) built between June 21, 2016 and November 18, 2016 with the extreme package may have a federal certification label that lists incorrect tire and rim sizes. The label does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 for tire selection and rims.

Because the label may show the wrong specifications, an owner could replace the tires or rims with sizes that are not intended for the trailer. That mismatch raises the risk of a crash.

Starcraft has notified owners and is mailing corrected labels at no cost. Owners can contact Starcraft customer service at 1-800-945-4787 (recall number 9902339). The recall began December 22, 2016. Check your vehicle identification number for any open recalls.

Problem
Starcraft RV is recalling certain model year 2017 Comet, Satellite, Launch, and Autumn Ridge mini trailers manufactured June 21, 2016, to November 18, 2016 and equipped with the extreme package. The Federal labels on the affected vehicles may state incorrect tire and rim sizes. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Risk
If there is incorrect tire and rim information on the label, owners may replace the tires or rims with items not specified for the unit, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Starcraft has notified owners and mailed corrected labels to the affected owners, free of charge. The recall began on December 22, 2016. Owners may contact Starcraft customer service at 1-800-945-4787. Starcraft's number for this recall is 9902339.
