What this recall means for you
On certain vehicles built in late September 2016, the left rear seat back pivot pins may have been improperly welded. The seat back frame can therefore be weaker than intended.
In a crash, these welds may fail, allowing any luggage stowed behind the seat to move forward into the passenger compartment. This increases the risk of injury to occupants.
Dealers will replace the left-hand second-row seat back frame free of charge. Ford will notify owners. You can also contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (recall 16S43), and check your VIN for open recalls.
