Suzuki GW250 Recall 16V808: Water can corrode brake light switch and cut lights

NHTSA campaign 16V808, reported November 7, 2016, 1,890 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Water can enter the main wiring harness at the rear brake light switch connectors, which may corrode the brake light switch. The corrosion can cause an electrical short that takes out the headlight, tail light and brake lights.

Losing these lights raises the risk of a crash, since other drivers may not see you braking or riding in the dark.

Suzuki will notify owners. Dealers will install an improved brake light switch assembly and, where needed, a water protection cover, free of charge. You can contact Suzuki customer service at 1-714-572-1490 (recall number 2A66), and you can check your VIN for open recalls.
