Jaguar F-Type Recall 16V789: Rear Control Arm Bolts May Fail, Causing Loss of Control

NHTSA campaign 16V789, reported October 28, 2016, 23 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2017 Jaguar F-Type SVR vehicles built between February 19, 2016 and August 15, 2016 may have rear lower control arm bolts that fail prematurely. This is due to assembly corrections made during manufacturing. If the bolt connecting the lower control arm to the knuckle fails, the rear control arm assembly may separate from the vehicle.

Separation of the rear control arm can cause a loss of control and increases the risk of a crash. Owners should take this recall seriously and not ignore notices about it.

Jaguar will notify affected owners, and dealers will replace the bolt connecting the rear lower control arm to the rear knuckle joint free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on December 19, 2016. Owners can contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827 (Jaguar recall number J076), and can check their VIN for open recalls.
