Forest River Rockport Recall 16V780: Fuel Pump Wiring Can Be Damaged, Causing Engine Stalls

NHTSA campaign 16V780, reported October 26, 2016, 22 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2016 cargo box and work trucks built on GM chassis, repeatedly raising and lowering the rear loading ramp can damage the electrical connections on the fuel sending unit. When this happens, fuel pressure can drop, causing the engine to stall while the vehicle is being driven. A sudden stall increases the risk of a crash.

Owners will be notified by Forest River. Dealers will reinstall the loading ramp structure to provide sufficient clearance, and the repair is free of charge. You can also contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-522-7599, referencing recall number 29-10212016-0261. Check your vehicle identification number for open recalls to confirm whether your truck is affected.
