What this recall means for you
On certain 2015-2016 car hauler trailers, the spring eye can break off the spring, allowing the rear axle to slide back and forth. When this happens, the tires on that axle can rub against the fenders or neighboring tires.
This contact can damage the tires and increase the risk of a crash. Owners should be aware of the problem and avoid continuing to tow an affected trailer until it has been inspected.
The remedy is free at an authorized dealer: all of the springs on the affected trailer will be replaced with a newly designed spring that has a thicker top leaf and a rubber bushing with a steel sleeve. Owners can also contact Kaufman Trailers Group at 1-336-790-2756 for help with this recall, and should check their VIN for any open recalls.
