What this recall means for you
The tow hitch on certain motorhomes may have a weight capacity sticker that shows an incorrect, too-high capacity. If the hitch is loaded up to the weight listed on that sticker, the hitch may fail and the towed vehicle can separate from the motorhome, which raises the risk of a crash.
Tiffin Motorhomes will notify affected owners and mail a corrected label to replace the incorrect one. The replacement label is free of charge. Owners can contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661, referencing recall number TIF-104. The recall began on October 31, 2016.
If you own one of these vehicles, check the weight capacity label on your hitch and do not tow beyond the correct capacity until the corrected label is installed. You can also check your VIN for open recalls on NHTSA's website.
