Honda GROM125 Recall 16V661: Fuel Pump May Seize and Stall Motorcycle

NHTSA campaign 16V661, reported September 14, 2016, 17,643 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2014-2015 Honda Grom 125 and NSS300 motorcycles have a fuel pump with a resin bracket inside that may swell and cause the pump impeller to seize. If the pump seizes, the motorcycle can stall, which increases the risk of a crash.

Honda will notify affected owners, and authorized dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly with one that uses a metal bracket inside, at no cost to you. This recall supersedes an earlier recall, 14V-672. Some motorcycles already repaired under that campaign are affected by this recall too and need the fuel pump replaced again. Owners can contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138, and you can check your VIN for open recalls.
