Morbark Beever Recall 16V612: Tail and stop lights may be too high to see, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 16V612, reported August 23, 2016, 813 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Morbark Beever wood-chipper trailers may have their stop lights and tail lights mounted too high to be easily seen by other drivers. The trailers therefore do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lamps and reflective devices.

When rear lights are hard to see, drivers behind the trailer may not notice when it is slowing or stopping, which increases the risk of a crash.

Morbark will notify owners, and authorized dealers will install a kit that repositions the lights at no cost to you. Owners can contact Morbark customer service at 1-517-866-2381. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
