Outdoors RV Glacier Peak Recall 16V587: Trailer Pin Box May Crack, Risking Separation From Tow Vehicle

NHTSA campaign 16V587, reported August 9, 2016, 140 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain fifth-wheel travel trailers have a pin box that can flex under load. Over time this can cause metal fatigue, and the trailer may separate from the tow vehicle.

If the trailer separates while towing, the risk of a crash increases. Owners of affected 2015 through 2017 trailers should stop relying on the hitch until it is inspected. Dealers will inspect the pin box and reinforce it where needed, at no cost to you. To arrange service, contact Outdoors RV customer service at 1-541-962-1866, extension 222, referencing recall number 2016-001. You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
