Jayco Travel Trailer JAY Flight SLX Recall 16V514: Incorrect Weight Labels Could Lead to Overloading and Crashes

NHTSA campaign 16V514, reported July 7, 2016, 32 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2017 Jayco Jay Flight SLX model 212 QBW travel trailers, built between June 27 and June 28, 2016, have Cargo Carrying Capacity and tire labels that list an incorrect vehicle weight. The labels fail to meet federal tire labeling requirements under FMVSS 110.

Because the labels show the wrong weight, an owner could load the trailer beyond its safe limit without realizing it. An overloaded trailer can handle poorly and has a higher risk of a crash.

Jayco has supplied dealers with corrected labels, and the remedy is free of charge. Contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-2833-8267 and reference recall number 9901300, and check your vehicle identification number for any open recalls.
