Heartland Revolution Recall 16V493: Blocked Rear Clearance Light Can Reduce Trailer Visibility

NHTSA campaign 16V493, reported June 30, 2016, 20 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A gate brace on certain trailers built between September 2015 and April 2016 can cover the rear clearance light. This means the light may be hidden and the trailer does not meet federal lighting requirements.

A blocked clearance light can make the trailer harder for other drivers to see, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should take this seriously and arrange the repair promptly.

The repair is free. Dealers will remove the gate brace at no charge, and Heartland will notify affected owners. You can contact Heartland Customer Service at 1-573-471-6826, and you can check your trailer's VIN for any open recalls.
