Gulf Stream Ameri-Lite Recall 16V431: Wrong tire and wheel size on trailer certification label

What this recall means for you

Certain 2016-2017 Gulf Stream Amerilite and Super-Lite trailers, built between January 11, 2016 and April 11, 2016, have an incorrect Federal Information Certification label. The label lists the tire size as ST205/75D-14-C with a 14x5.5 wheel, but the correct tire size is 235/75R-15-C with a 15x6 wheel. These trailers also do not meet the certification requirements of 49 CFR Part 567.

If you rely on the label when replacing a tire or wheel, you could install an incorrect wheel and tire combination, which may increase the risk of a crash.

Gulf Stream will notify owners, and authorized dealers will install a corrected Federal Certification label at no cost to you. The recall began on July 22, 2016. Problem
Gulf Stream Coach, Inc. (Gulf Stream) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Ameri-Lite and Super-Lite trailers manufactured January 11, 2016, through April 11, 2016. On the Federal Information Certification label, these trailers incorrectly list the tire size as ST205/75D-14-C with a wheel size of 14x5.5, when the correct tire size is actually 235/75R-15-C with a wheel size of 15x6. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."
Risk
If relying on the label, an incorrect replacement wheel and tire combination may be installed, possibly increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Gulf Stream will notify owners, and dealers will install a corrected Federal Certification label, free of charge. The recall began on July 22, 2016. Owners may contact Gulf Stream customer service at 1-800-289-8787. Gulf Stream's number for this recall is GT060816.
