What this recall means for you
The assembly instructions for these Vermeer TG5000 vehicles called for the wrong length of air brake slack adjuster pushrod. Over time, the pushrod threads may fail, which can cause the trailer parking brakes to engage on their own without the driver applying them.
Unintended trailer brake engagement increases the risk of a crash. Owners should be aware of this issue, especially if the trailer brakes feel dragging, unusual, or do not release as expected.
Vermeer will notify affected owners, and authorized dealers will reset the air brake pushrod to the correct length at no cost to you. Owners can contact Vermeer customer service at 1-641-628-3141 and reference recall number IK3334. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
