Terex Advance Front Discharge Concrete Recall 16V413: Concrete Chute Weld Can Fail and Detach While Driving

NHTSA campaign 16V413, reported June 8, 2016, 338 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The weld on the outer chute race of certain 2016 front discharge concrete mixer trucks, built between January 14 and May 31, 2016, may fail. If that happens, the main chute can detach and fall off while the vehicle is moving.

A detached chute while the truck is being driven creates an increased risk of a crash. Owners of affected trucks should stop using the chute until the repair is made and contact an authorized dealer.

The remedy is free: dealers will replace the main chute race assembly at no charge. Owners can also call Terex customer service at 1-800-678-5961, and should check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
