Forest River Stealth EVO Recall 16V360: Wrong tires may fail suddenly, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 16V360, reported May 25, 2016, 68 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2016 Stealth Evo recreational vehicle trailers, built between January 7 and March 18, 2016, may have been fitted with tires of the wrong load range. Tires that cannot handle the trailer's load can fail prematurely, and the vehicles do not meet federal tire and load-capacity safety requirements.

Unexpected tire failure increases the risk of a crash. A blowout or tread separation while towing can cause a loss of control, so owners of affected trailers should take this recall seriously.

Forest River will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the tires and rims with the correct ones at no cost. For questions, contact Forest River customer service at 1-909-873-3777, extension 52, citing recall number 67-05192016-0199. You can also check your trailer's VIN for open recalls.
