What this recall means for you
Certain 2015-2017 Stoughton trailers built between March 2014 and April 2016 may have Bendix SR5 spring brake valves that were improperly machined. This can cause the parking brake chamber to fail while the trailer is parked.
If the parking brake fails, the trailer may roll away, which increases the risk of a crash or injury. Owners should take this seriously and avoid relying on the parking brake of an affected trailer until it has been repaired.
Stoughton will contact owners and provide a free remedy kit with instructions to repair the affected SR5 relay valves. Owners can call Stoughton customer service at 1-608-873-2500, and can check their VIN for open recalls.
