Fccc XCR Recall 16V327: Wrong tire pressure label may cause sudden rim failure

NHTSA campaign 16V327, reported May 19, 2016, 727 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2015-2016 FCCC XCR chassis, built between May 12, 2014 and December 10, 2015, have incomplete vehicle document labels that list the steer and tag axle tire pressure as 130 psi instead of the correct 120 psi. If a tire is inflated to the pressure shown on the incorrect label, the rim may suddenly fail from overpressurization, which raises the risk of a crash.

The manufacturer, Daimler Trucks North America, notified the only purchaser of the affected chassis and supplied corrected labels at no charge. The manufacturer will not contact motorhome owners directly, so owners who think their vehicle may be affected should contact Daimler Trucks North America customer service at 1-800-547-0712 and reference recall number FL-710. Check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls, and do not inflate the steer or tag tires above 120 psi until the correct label is in place.

The repair is normally free at an authorized dealer.
