Gillig LOW Floor Recall 16V320: Driver Window May Block Light, Reducing Visibility and Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 16V320, reported May 18, 2016, 34 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2016 Gillig Low Floor vehicles built between March 3, 2016 and April 21, 2016 have a driver's side window that may block too much light. This reduces the driver's visibility and fails to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 205 for glazing materials.

Reduced visibility can increase the risk of a crash. Drivers may have a harder time seeing traffic, pedestrians, and road hazards on the driver's side.

Gillig will notify owners, and authorized dealers will install compliant driver's windows free of charge. Owners with questions can contact Gillig customer service at 1-800-735-1500. You can also check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls.
