Forest River Berkshire Recall 16V285: Loose Front Sway Bar Can Cause Loss of Steering Control

NHTSA campaign 16V285, reported May 11, 2016, 62 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The front sway bar mounting brackets may not fit properly on the axle. Over time, the mounting bolts can bend or loosen, and the sway bar may detach from the axle, which affects handling.

A detached sway bar can make the vehicle harder to control and increases the risk of a crash. Owners of affected motorhomes should not wait to have this addressed.

The repair is free. Daimler Trucks dealers will modify the sway bar mounting at no charge, and Forest River will notify owners directly. To check whether your vehicle is included, look up your VIN for open recalls, or contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 and reference Forest River recall number 40-05032016-0183.
