What this recall means for you
Certain 2016 Turtle Top Odyssey transit buses, built between December 17, 2015 and March 29, 2016, have seats that may separate from the base frame because of bolt failure. The vehicles also fail to meet federal requirements for school bus passenger seating and crash protection, and for child restraint systems.
If a crash occurs, a seat that separates from its base frame increases the risk of injury to the person sitting in it. Owners of affected vehicles should take this recall seriously, particularly if the bus is used to carry children or other passengers.
Turtle Top will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the seats free of charge. The recall began June 22, 2016. To learn more or arrange the repair, contact Turtle Top customer service at 1-574-831-4340 and reference recall number 16E-037. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
