Ford Fusion Recall 16V250: Driver seat may not hold you securely in a crash

NHTSA campaign 16V250, reported April 27, 2016, 39 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2016 Ford Fusion vehicles built in a narrow window in March 2016 may have a driver seat track whose rear riser was improperly welded to the seat track rail. The weld problem means the seat may not stay anchored properly, so the driver may not be adequately restrained in a crash, which increases the risk of injury.

The affected vehicles were held at dealerships before sale, so if you already own one, the seat assembly may not have been checked or repaired. Ford will replace the front driver seat track rail at no cost at an authorized Ford dealer.

Check whether your vehicle is included in this recall by entering your VIN at NHTSA's recall lookup or Ford's owner site, and contact a Ford dealer to schedule the free repair.
