Vermeer TLR33 Recall 16V235: Undersized tires can rub fenders and fail suddenly

NHTSA campaign 16V235, reported April 22, 2016, 158 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some trailers may have been built with tires that are too small for the fenders. Under load or in use, the tires can rub against the fenders, which can cause a sudden tire failure.

A sudden tire failure can lead to loss of control and increases the risk of a crash. Owners should stop using an affected trailer for hauling until the issue is addressed, and should check the tires and fender clearance.

Vermeer will provide a free install kit with the necessary parts and instructions to install a frame lift. You can contact Vermeer customer service at 1-641-628-3141 (recall number IK3285). You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
