Jayco Travel Trailer Octane Super Lite Recall 16V230: Missing 30-Amp Breaker Can Let Wiring Short and Start a Fire

NHTSA campaign 16V230, reported April 20, 2016, 322 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some travel trailers may have been built without a 30-amp circuit breaker. If an electrical short occurs on the unprotected circuit, the wiring can overheat and the trailer can catch fire.

The risk comes from the lack of overcurrent protection. An electrical short on a circuit with no breaker increases the risk of fire. Affected owners should take this recall seriously and not delay the repair.

Jayco will notify owners, and authorized dealers will install a 30-amp circuit breaker at no cost to you. Contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267 with recall number 9901295, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
