NHTSA campaign 16V138, reported March 7, 2016, 5,561 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

An unexpected loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash. Owners should be aware of this possibility, especially in traffic or at highway speeds.

Volkswagen will update the battery management software at no cost at an authorized dealer. Owners can contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298 (recall number 93B4) and should check their VIN for any open recalls.
