Suzuki SFV650 Recall 15V844: Kinked fuel vent hose can crack tank and cause fire

NHTSA campaign 15V844, reported December 16, 2015, 287 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some Suzuki SFV650 motorcycles from the 2013 to 2015 model years may have a fuel tank breather hose that was not positioned properly during assembly, so it can become kinked. When the hose is kinked, pressure can build up inside the fuel tank and cause it to crack, which can lead to a fuel leak and increase the risk of a fire.

Suzuki will notify affected owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the fuel tank breather hose at no cost to you. If the existing hose is found to be kinked and obstructed, the fuel tank will also be replaced, free of charge. You can contact Suzuki customer service at 1-714-572-1490 and reference Suzuki's recall number 2A49. The recall began on January 8, 2016.
