What this recall means for you
Some vehicles with heated and cooled front seats may have a Passenger Occupant Detection System (PODS) that malfunctions. This system determines whether the front passenger airbags should be enabled, and the malfunction can prevent those airbags from deploying in a crash.
An airbag that does not deploy as intended raises the risk of injury to the front passenger in a crash. Owners should take this recall seriously and have the repair completed as soon as possible.
The repair is free. Audi dealers will install a PODS system repair kit at no charge, and Volkswagen will notify affected owners directly. You can also contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls to confirm whether your car is affected.
