Wabash National Van Recall 15V791: Brake Caliner Bolts May Loosen, Reducing Braking

NHTSA campaign 15V791, reported November 24, 2015, 91 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some trailers built between December 2013 and August 2015 may have brake caliper mounting bolts that were not properly tightened. Over time, these bolts can back out, allowing the brake caliper to detach from the axle flange.

If a caliper detaches, braking performance is reduced, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should not ignore this recall or assume their brakes are unaffected.

The repair is free. Dealers will inspect the caliper bolts and tighten them as necessary. Owners will be notified by the manufacturer, Wabash, and can contact Wabash customer service at 1-765-771-5404. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
