Winnebago Journey Recall 15V758: Water Heater Can Overheat and Scald Users

NHTSA campaign 15V758, reported November 16, 2015, 257 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain motorhomes built between March 2014 and November 2015 are equipped with Atwood on-demand water heaters (models OD45, OD50, and OD50CW) that have a water and gas valve that may cause the water to overheat at the hot water tap.

If the water overheats, it can release steam, which may scald the person using the tap and increases the risk of injury. Owners should check their VIN for open recalls and contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-3535 or Atwood customer service at 1-574-264-2131 for more information. Winnebago will notify owners, and the remedy is still being developed, so the repair details and timing were not yet available when this recall was issued.
