Coachmen Mirada Recall 15V742: Parking brake may fail to hold, risking rollaway

NHTSA campaign 15V742, reported November 10, 2015, 13 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The parking brake actuator on certain motorhomes may be out of calibration. As a result, the parking brake may not hold the vehicle even with the pedal fully pressed, and it may not fully release when the pedal is let go.

If the parking brake does not fully engage, the vehicle may roll unexpectedly, raising the risk of injury or a crash. A parking brake that drags can also cause a wheel-end fire.

Owners will be notified by Forest River. The remedy is free: the parking brake foot pedal assembly will be replaced at an authorized dealer. You can contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-293-1581, and you should check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls.
