What this recall means for you
Certain 2016 Jayco Eagle Half Ton fifth wheel trailers, built between May 19, 2015 and October 8, 2015, do not have warning labels on the towing hitch. The labels should show the maximum gross vehicle weight rating for towing, the maximum tongue weight, and braking information for the towing vehicle. Without them, the person towing could unknowingly overload the trailer.
An overloaded trailer may suffer tire or axle failure, which raises the risk of a crash. If you own an affected trailer, contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267 and reference recall number 9901265. Jayco will notify owners, and an authorized dealer will install the proper warning label free of charge.
You can also check your vehicle identification number for any open recalls. Until the label is installed, make sure you know the trailer's weight limits and do not exceed them when loading or towing.
