What this recall means for you
On certain 2015 Mercedes-Benz S550 Hybrid vehicles built between May 13, 2013 and April 22, 2015, the fuel pump may not deliver enough fuel to restart the gasoline engine after the car has been driven in electric mode. If this happens, the vehicle can stall while you are driving.
A sudden stall increases the risk of a crash. Owners should be aware of this issue, especially if their vehicle has been driven in electric mode and then needs the gasoline engine to start again.
Mercedes-Benz USA will notify affected owners, and authorized dealers will update the fuel system control unit software at no cost. The recall is expected to begin in November 2015. To check whether your vehicle is included, contact Mercedes-Benz customer service at 1-800-367-6372 or check your VIN for open recalls.
