What this recall means for you
Some 2003 Honda Odyssey vehicles built in late August 2002 were fitted with the wrong passenger-side frontal airbag module. As a result, these vehicles do not meet federal occupant crash protection requirements, so the airbag may not perform as designed in a crash.
An airbag that does not meet safety requirements raises the risk of injury to the front passenger in a crash. Owners should take this recall seriously and have the vehicle checked as soon as possible.
The repair is free. Honda will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the passenger frontal airbag module at no charge. You can contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138 for more information. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your Odyssey is affected.
