Eldorado Amerivan Recall 15V556: Front seat belt may unlatch unexpectedly in a crash

NHTSA campaign 15V556, reported September 3, 2015, 23 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2015 Amerivan vehicles built on Toyota Sienna chassis, made between July 1, 2015 and August 20, 2015, have a defect in the front seat belt anchorage. The Toyota seat belt tab may not properly latch to the Amerivan's Qstem seat belt buckle assembly, so the belt can unlatch unexpectedly when pulled on. The vehicles also fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 210 for seat belt anchorage.

If the seat belt unlatches, the occupant is not properly restrained and faces a higher risk of injury in a crash. Owners should not wait for the repair if they notice a belt coming loose.

The repair is free. Dealers will install a new Qstem assembly with an alternate buckle assembly at no charge. Owners will be notified by Eldorado National-Kansas, and you can call Eldorado customer service at 1-785-827-1033. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
