RAM 2500 Recall 15V541: Steering Bracket Can Separate, Making Truck Harder to Control

NHTSA campaign 15V541, reported August 26, 2015, 149,080 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some pickup trucks built between October 9, 2012 and July 29, 2014 may have weak welds holding the front track bar frame brackets. Over time, these brackets can separate from the frame.

If a bracket separates, the truck may be more difficult to steer and control, which raises the risk of a crash.

The repair is free. Authorized dealers will inspect the front track bar bracket and install a reinforcement bracket over it. Chrysler will notify affected owners, or you can contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall R46). You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
