AEV Traumahawk Recall 15V513: Backup camera may show left and right reversed

NHTSA campaign 15V513, reported August 13, 2015, 140 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2014-2015 AEV Traumahawk emergency vehicles, built between December 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015, have a backup camera that may display images in reverse. An object or person on the left side of the vehicle can appear on the right side of the screen, or the reverse.

This creates a higher risk of a crash, because the image you rely on while backing up does not match the actual position of what is behind the vehicle.

The remedy is free. Halcore will notify owners, and authorized dealers will work with ASA Electronics to replace any camera that is not displaying the correct images. You can contact AEV customer service at 1-800-374-9749 or ASA customer service at 1-877-384-4400. Check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is included.
