Forest River Sierra Recall 15V480: Wrong weight rating label could lead to overloading and crash

NHTSA campaign 15V480, reported July 30, 2015, 207 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The certification label on these recreational vehicles may list an incorrect gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). This means the label does not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 567 and may give owners a false picture of how much weight the vehicle can safely carry.

If you rely on the label, you could load the vehicle beyond its true capacity. Overloading can lead to a crash.

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will install a new set of corrected certification labels free of charge. To learn more, contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-534-8386 and reference recall number 03-07292015-0067. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
